India lost their hopes on winning one more medal - this time in Boxing - as the news maker Akhil Kumar from Bhiwani lost to his opponent in the quarter finals of the Men's Bantam Weight - 54KG and failed to qualify for the Semi finals.

He was defeated by GOJAN Veaceslav (Republic of Moldova) by points (10:3)
